Former Charger Will Meet Team in Holland following 10 Days Training with Everton
Chester, Pa. (December 2, 2011) – Philadelphia Union’s Zac MacMath, Jack McInerney, Danny Mwanga and Amobi Okugo will travel to the Netherlands for this year’s Generation adidas tour, Major League Soccer announced today. Coached by Sporting Kansas City Manager Peter Vermes and his staff, the Generation adidas team will train at the world-renowned Ajax Academy in Amsterdam and compete in friendly matches against Ajax Reserves and Dutch second-division clubs FC Volendam and Almere City FC.

Rob O’Nan, President of the Clearwater Chargers, announced the hiring of Roberto Lopez this week at the Development Academy tryouts at the Premier Sports Campus at Lakewood Ranch. O’Nan stated, "we are very pleased that we have been able to secure such a qualified coach for our Academy, Roberto’s work with US Soccer over the past 8 years has identified and developed many players currently in the US Soccer system and the professional ranks."

Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, Inc. (SMR) is pleased to announce the Clearwater Chargers as an anchor tenant at the new Premier Sports Campus which opened last month in Lakewood Ranch. The soccer organization is expanding and will host tournaments, offer a daily soccer program, a recreational and competitive league and the U.S. Soccer Development Academy, all at the Lakewood Ranch facility.

US Soccer Staff Joins for the 2011-2012 Season
Charger President Rob O’Nan announced this week that Tim Mulqueen has been named the Charger Development Academy Goalkeeper Coach. O’Nan stated, " we have been privileged to have Tim work with our goalkeepers on a limited basis for the past couple of years, but now to have him on staff will be an immense leap in the development of our goalies, not only in the Academy but also the rest of the Charger club". O’Nan continued to state, "we have seen first hand Tim’s committment and skill as he is largely credited with the development, in the US U17 Residency Program, of former Charger Zac MacMath, a 2011 MLS 5th overall draft pick of the Philadelphia Union".

As a foundation to the Development Academy (DA) evaluation process, the Pre-Academy Development Program is designed for the most serious and committed soccer player. The primary purpose of the launching of this Program, is the identification and the preparation of these players for the USSFDevelopmentAcademy teams U16 / U18 run by the Clearwater Chargers S.C and now entering in our 4th season. US Soccer Federation has severalstandards which our current DA teams must adhere to; these mandates are also some of the core principals of the Pre-Academy teams.
